Acceptable Use Policy
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) sets out the activities and content that are prohibited on the VPS Cloud service operated by StoresWiki LLC. It exists to protect our network, our other customers, and the wider internet. It forms part of, and is incorporated into, our Terms of Service.
1. Your responsibility
You are responsible for all activity on your server and account, including that of your users, clients and any software you install. Not knowing what your server is doing is not a defence — you must secure it, keep it patched, and respond promptly to abuse notices.
2. Prohibited activities
The following are prohibited on all plans:
- Spam & unsolicited email. Sending bulk or unsolicited email (UCE), operating open mail relays, list-washing, or any activity that gets our IP ranges blacklisted.
- Phishing & fraud. Hosting phishing pages, fake login portals, carding sites, fraudulent stores, or any deceptive content designed to steal credentials or money.
- Malware & hacking. Distributing viruses, ransomware, trojans, botnet command-and-control, exploit kits, or credential-stealers.
- Network attacks. Launching or participating in denial-of-service (DoS/DDoS) attacks, port scanning, brute-force attacks, packet flooding, spoofing, or unauthorised penetration testing of third parties.
- Traffic laundering. Operating open proxies, undisclosed anonymisation relays, or services whose primary purpose is to disguise the origin of abusive traffic.
- Illegal content. Child sexual abuse material (CSAM), content that incites violence or terrorism, unlicensed sale of controlled goods, and any content illegal under the laws of Italy or the laws applicable to you.
- Intellectual-property infringement. Distributing pirated software, media or other copyrighted works without authorisation, or trademark infringement.
- Undisclosed cryptocurrency mining. Mining that is not disclosed to us and approved; mining that saturates shared host resources is not permitted on standard plans.
- Resource abuse. Deliberately circumventing plan limits, fair-use throttles, or bandwidth allowances; running workloads engineered to degrade neighbouring servers.
3. Prohibited hosting categories
Regardless of legality in a given jurisdiction, the following categories are not permitted on our network because of the disproportionate abuse, blacklisting and legal risk they create:
- Bulletproof hosting, spam-friendly hosting, and “anything goes” resale.
- Public open proxies, VPN exit nodes and Tor exit relays offered without controls (private, responsibly-operated VPNs for your own use may be permitted — contact us first).
- High-risk financial schemes: Ponzi/pyramid schemes, unlicensed exchanges, HYIP programs.
- Stress-testing / “booter” / IP-stresser services.
- Mass-registration, scraping-for-abuse, fake-engagement and credential-stuffing platforms.
4. Bandwidth and fair use
Each plan includes a monthly outbound data-transfer allowance. Exceeding it results in temporary outbound throttling until your allowance resets (not suspension). Sustained maximum-rate egress consistent with relaying or attack traffic may be rate-limited or suspended immediately to protect the network. Full details are in section 8 of the Terms of Service.
5. Automated security scanning
We operate automated malware scanning across the platform. If confirmed malicious files are found on your server, we notify you and expect prompt remediation. Unaddressed or repeated infections may lead to suspension under section 6.
6. Enforcement
Depending on severity we may: send an abuse notice with a remediation window; rate-limit or throttle the offending traffic; suspend the server; or, for severe, repeated or clearly illegal activity, terminate the account immediately and, where the law requires, report it to the relevant authorities. Where it is safe to do so we give notice first; where the abuse is actively harming others we may act immediately and notify you afterwards. Suspensions can be appealed at support@storeswiki.com.
7. Reporting abuse
To report abuse originating from our network, email support@storeswiki.com with logs, timestamps (including timezone) and the offending IP or domain. We investigate every credible report.
